We believe in ensuring our students are proficient in the language and knowledgeable in the cultures of the Arab world. As most of our students have not been exposed to the language prior to college, our teaching requires a deep dive in the subject, one that transcends mere classroom training.

I am an Arab assistant teacher and adjunct lecturer and my background is in media studies and broadcast journalism. I teach a wide range of courses related to Egyptian society, media, and gender relations.

I'm a Mellon Post-Doctorate Fellow, and I have been teaching elementary Arabic courses at Davidson since the fall of 2012.   My interests include teacher's pedagogy, classroom instruction, language and culture and curriculum theory design.
