My current teaching interests are plant biochemistry, proteases in seed germination and early growth.

My research interests are in the area of plant biochemistry. In particular, my most recent investigations involved the study of corn proteases during seed germination and early seedling growth and how these enzymes coordinate with the breakdown of the seed storage protein zein. I am also interested in carbohydrate metabolism and the enzymes involved with this process.
