I teach urban and public economics courses, but my passion, and the primary focus of my research is sports economics.

Mark Foley and I recently completed two papers on sports economics, and we co-authored a third paper with Brian Strow (who teaches at Western Kentucky).

I also co-authored a paper with Prof. Christina Zenker (formerly of Salem College) that looks at the role of gender and high school preparation in influencing major selection at Salem and Davidson.

I am currently finishing a co-authored paper that examines changes in urban spatial structure in 19th century New York City. My co-authors for the paper are Jack DeLoach '12 and Ida Bastiaens (graduate student in public policy at the University of Pittsburgh).
