Background

I teach courses in macroeconomics and international trade and finance.

My interests include international trade and finance, macroeconomic theory and history of economic thought. My recent research covers aspects of the behavior of the forward premium, purchasing power parity, effects of exchange rate volatility on international trade, and early warning signals of currency crises.

I have previously taught at Vanderbilt University and served at the World Bank, the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, and as Visiting International Economist at the Capital Markets Group, Wachovia Corporation (then First Union Corporation) while on leave from Davidson.
