I teach 19th-century U.S. history, with an emphasis on the American South, the Civil War and Reconstruction, and American women's history. My research interests include southern women, southern religion, and the suffrage movement.
Recently I presented a lecture and class discussion on David Oshinsky's Polio: An American Story as part of my HIS 246 class: Fires, Famines, Fevers, and Floods. Watch the C-SPAN video, filmed at Davidson in April 2013.
