Music Scholarships

The Music Department awards several scholarships annually, including scholarships for entering and continuing students. All scholarships are available regardless of whether a student majors in music.

Scholarships for Entering Students
The Donald B. Plott and J. Estes Millner Scholarships provide several scholarships of up to $10,000 for first-year students. Plott and Millner Scholars also have the option of enrolling in applied music lessons, either half-hour (non-credit) or one-hour lessons (credit or non-credit), the cost of which will be covered by the Music Department. The scholarship awards are renewable for the recipients' remaining three years at Davidson, provided you continue to meet scholarship requirements.

Scholarships for Continuing Students
Rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors compete in the Current Student Music Scholarship Competition. In addition to receiving a stipent that can be applied toward tuition, competition winners also have the option of enrolling in applied music lessons, either half-hour (non-credit) or one-hour lessons (credit or non-credit), the cost of which will be covered by the Music Department.
