Ph.D., M.A. Florida State University
I have taught at Davidson since 1974, serving as department chair from 1990 to 2003. My courses include design, history, playwriting and play analysis. I design regularly for Davidson productions and also direct occasionally.
I have also worked extensively with regional companies and have over a hundred professional production credits. My work has been recognized with numerous area awards, including Metrolina Theatre Association's "Outstanding Set Design, College and University" for Davidson's She Loves Me and the 2005 regional design award for Beauty and the Beast, produced by Charlotte Summer Theatre. Examples of work for professional companies include Charlotte Rep (Angels in America Parts I and II, The Beauty Queen of Leenane, The Glass Menagerie); CPCC Summer Theatre (Camelot, Chess, Spamalot); Tarradiddle Players (Don't Count Your Chickens Before They Cry Wolf, Pinocchio); North Carolina Shakespeare Festival (Tartuffe); and Burning Coal Theatre (Hair).
