The Senior Overnight can be immeasurably helpful in the college search process. Many Davidson students cite the Senior Overnight as the single most important factor in their decision to enroll at the college.
In addition to giving you a look at Davidson life outside of college business hours, the overnight experience can be instrumental in connecting you with current students.
The Senior Overnight will give you a glimpse of life as a first-year student. You could attend a concert or lecture in the Union, enjoy a meal in Vail Commons, or sit in on a study group or student organization meeting. Be sure to visit our Campus Calendar for events happening during your stay.
Request a Senior Overnight using our Overnight Registration Calendar (available in early August). If you need assistance, please contact our visit coordinator at 704-894-2679. For overnight visits in the fall, the registration deadline is seven days in advance of the date, by 5 p.m. Overnight dates will fill up, advanced planning is highly recommended.
Upon registering for an overnight visit, you will receive a confirmation email with information about your stay, including where and when to meet your host, guidelines for visitors, and suggested things to pack.
To take full advantage of your time, arrive at the Alvarez Student Union by 4:30 p.m. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by a member of the Overnights team and your student host. You will receive details about your visit and a temporary access card (CatCard).
Although your overnight visit concludes first thing Friday morning, we encourage you to plan for extra time on campus. You might visit a class (beginning at 8:30 a.m. and running in 50 minute blocks of time), eat a meal at our dining hall, or attend a tour. You'll discover what makes Davidson so special.
