Blocks of hotel rooms have been reserved for those attending the 2013 Homecoming and Male Chorus Reunion weekends. For those attending the Avant Garde or Class Reunions, a block of rooms at The Davidson Village Inn and The Homewood Suites have been reserved for you. Please contact your hotel of choice: The Homewood Suites at 704-897-1818 or The Davidson Village Inn at 704-892-8044. Tell them that you are reserving a room for Davidson's Homecoming Reunion to receive the discounted rate.
For those attending the Male Chorus Reunion, a block of rooms at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Huntersville, N.C. has been reserved for you. Please contact the hotel at 704-892-9487, and indicate you are reserving a room for Davidson's Male Chorus Reunion to receive the discounted rate. If you are attending both Homecoming and Male Chorus reunions, hotel choice is completely at your discretion.
Stop here as soon as you arrive on campus. The welcome center in the Nancy O. Blackwell Alumni House, located at 420 N. Main St., is the information source for the weekend. Check in and pick up your registration materials. Short-term parking for those checking in is available in the Smith House parking lot and in the Admissions parking lot.
Please fill out your registration information completely and make us aware of any special meal requests. Our caterers will do their best to accommodate individuals who are vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, etc. However, they must know in advance. It is imperative that you submit your registration by Friday, Oct. 4 so we can provide you with the meal you need.
Dress for the weekend is casual. The Friday class dinner attire is dressy casual, unless indicated otherwise by your class' Reunion chairs. Average October temperatures range from 49 to 72 degrees Fahrenheit. Please check the weather in advance.
Stop by the Alumni Welcome Center to receive your special Homecoming discount to be used at the Davidson College Store, located at 137 North Main St. Store hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18, and from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19. The college store is now located on Main Street adjacent to campus.
Parking is available at the Baker Sports Complex off of Concord Road and behind the buildings on Main Street off of Griffith and Jackson Streets. Short-term parking for those checking in is available in the Smith House parking lot and in the Admissions parking lot. Accessible parking for those with mobility concerns will be available in the Baker Parking Lot all weekend.
Golf carts will shuttle alumni and guests from Baker parking lot starting 30 minutes before each event and will be available following each event to return guests to Baker parking lot or to deliver them to their next event. If you are in need of a shuttle ride, please call 704-894-2178 or 704-450-7389. While shuttles will be actively running, it can take up to 30 minutes to arrive. If you need a ride to or from campus, please call Yellow Cab of Lake Norman at 704-664-3232.
If you require special assistance during Homecoming weekend, we are happy to help. Homecoming weekend facilities and on-campus housing locations are ADA-compliant accessible buildings. Please contact Nmeli (Melly) Nnoromele in Alumni Relations at 704-894-2450 to arrange any accommodations.
If an emergency arises while you are attending Homecoming weekend, family and friends may contact the campus police at 704-894-2178 (please make sure they know the class with which you are associated).
In order to grant a refund, we must receive notice of cancellation. No refund requests will be accepted after Friday, Oct. 4. Refunds requested prior to the deadline will be mailed following Homecoming weekend. Please contact Linda Kunkle in Alumni Relations at 704-894-2111 with any questions.
Davidson tries to keep Homecoming costs at a minimum for our alumni. Should your financial situation prevent you from attending, please email Marya Howell in Alumni Relations or call her at 704-894-2642 to discuss your options confidentially.
