Concert Series: Ariel String Quartet

Characterized by its youth, brilliant playing and soulful interpretations, the Ariel Quartet has quickly earned a glowing international reputation. Originally formed in Israel in 2004, violinists Alexandra Kazovsky and Gershon Gechikov, violist Jan Grüning, and cellist Amit Even-Tov moved to the United States in 2004 to continue their professional studies as a quartet.

In January 2012 the Quartet was named quartet-in-residence at the University of Cincinnati’s College Conservatory of Music, an astonishing accomplishment for such a young ensemble and a testament to the Ariel’s skill and dedication to their craft.

The quartet’s program at Davidson will feature works by Mozart, Britten and Debussy.
