Poet, Richard Blanco, Public Reading

Cuban-American poet Richard Blanco was chosen by President Barack Obama to compose and deliver the Inaugural Poem in January 2013. The author of three collections of poems, Blanco has a B.A. in Civil Engineering and an M.F.A. in Poetry; his awards include honors from the PEN American Center, the Bread Loaf Writers Center and the Florida Council on the Arts. He is a passionate and articulate advocate for LGBT and immigration rights.

This event is sponsored by the English Department and Bacca Foundation Visiting Scholar and Artist Program.

There will be a book signing. This event is free and open to the public; no tickets required.
