This course combines economic theory and historical accounts in an attempt to understand the various forces that have shaped economic development in Latin America. We will discuss both macroeconomic policies and contemporary policies. You will gain an understanding of major theories and trends in Latin American development while obtaining the necessary tools to analyze specific development issues and the impact of development projects.
