Discussion of the theme of wealth and its place in a variety of literary forms and cultural contexts. Readings typically include plays, poetry, and fiction by French and Francophone authors such as Moli\00E8re, La Bruy\00E8re, Balzac, Maupassant, Baudelaire, Proulx, Roy, and La Ferri\00E8re.
