The Davidson College Art Department is seeking a full-time visiting assistant professor for a two-year appointment in Davidson, N.C., non-renewable, competitive salary and benefits. The position will start in August 2014. New or recent MFA applicants accepted. No teaching experience is required. Specialty in one or more areas of new media: digital imaging, 2D/3D animation, video art, 3D printing, physical computing, interactive, locative, web-based art making. Responsibilities include teaching five courses per year including introduction to digital art and courses based on specialization of candidate hired. Interest in developing or implementing curriculum related to diverse populations and ability to teach studio art foundation. Interest in cross-disciplinary work with other institutional departments is desirable. Hire will have a one-person show of personal work in spring of second year.
