In an op-ed in the Washington Post, Davidson College men's basketball coach Bob McKillop explains why he and his team traveled to Auschwitz.
Thanks to a partnership between the Maimonides Institute for Medicine, Ethics and the Holocaust and the CANDLES Holocaust Museum and Education Center, they will travel back and forth to Poland in four short days for the opportunity to visit the concentration camp and hear Auschwitz survivor Eva Mozes Kor's story in person. The team heads home on July 4.
“The volatility of our world right now requires a response informed by both a respect for human dignity and an understanding of what happens in its absence,” McKillop writes.
