The Washington Post: Alumnus Points Out U.S. Hypocrisy Over Anti-Gay U.S. Statutes

by Davidson College

Bill EskridgeBill Eskridge '73, Yale University's John A. Garver Professor of Jurisprudence and author of the 1999 book Gaylaw, is a longtime gay-rights expert and advocate. His 2004 visit to speak at Davidson served as a focal point for the group of alumni and students whose interest in gay issues led to today's Gay-Straight Alumni Network of Davidson (G-SAND).

On the eve of the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia, Eskridge and his Yale colleague Ian Ayres make the case in an op-ed that Russia's anti-gay laws are not so different from some in the United States.
