Davidson College President Carol Quillen has been unanimously appointed by the Atlantic 10 Presidents Council as the conference's representative to the newly formed NCAA Division I Presidential Forum. Along with Virginia Commonwealth University President Dr. Michael Rao, who will serve on the Division I Board of Directors, Quillen will represent the A-10 as the NCAA Division I membership wrestles with the many complex issues facing Division I athletics.
A non-voting body with a representative from each Division I conference, the Presidential Forum is charged with assisting the Board of Directors in accomplishing its strategic mission.
"It's a pleasure to represent the Atlantic 10 on the NCAA's Presidential Forum and to work alongside dedicated institutional leaders at this critical time for collegiate athletics," Quillen said. "Davidson College believes in and demonstrates the educational value of Division I sports. We share with the A-10's 13 other members a sincere commitment to academic integrity, fair competition, and the ideal of the scholar-athlete."
