The Davidson Impact Fellowship program is a highly selective program designed to give Davidson graduates significant professional experiences in nonprofit organizations at the beginning of their careers. Impact fellowships are intended for high achieving Davidson College seniors who have demonstrated passion and drive for shaping communities through work in public service organizations. Ideal candidates are those seniors who are dedicated to tackling critical community issues through nonprofit work and who have a history of relevant academic or professional experiences. The Davidson Impact Fellowship program application process involves several phases, all of which are required in order to ensure that successful matches are made between applicants and partner organizations.
All interested candidates are required to attend an information session prior to applying for an Impact Fellowship. For the 2017-2018 Davidson Impact Fellowship program, there will be information sessions at 11:05 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Feb. 9. These information sessions will outline the application process, fellowship expectations, professional development programming and each partner organization's opportunity. Several partner organizations will be hosting additional deep-dive information and networking sessions to highlight the specific opportunities and requirements for their fellowship roles. We expect interested students to attend both an information session Feb. 9 and a partner organization's information session in order to be considered for a fellowship.
The 2017 Davidson Impact Fellowship application deadline is Feb. 28, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. You should apply for a fellowship opportunity via the job posting in Handshake, and submit a resume and statement of intent. Your statement of intent is an opportunity to convey your vision for your Impact Fellowship, your knowledge of the partner organization's mission and your relevant academic and professional experiences.
Upon review of the applications, a selection committee appointed by the Executive Director of the Center for Career Development will identify top candidates for each position. The selection committee will be comprised of members of the Center for Career Development as well as key internal stakeholders.
Upon receiving a list of top candidates from the Davidson Impact Fellowship Program selection committee, each partner organization will schedule interviews with finalist applicants. Interviews can occur on or off campus depending on the partner organization's requests. Interviews with the partner organizations will occur in March or early April of 2017.
In late March and early April, partner organizations will make offers to selected fellows. If an organization extends an offer and you accept it, you are considered part of the Davidson Impact Fellowship Program and will participate in the Center for Career Development's professional development programming. Before entering fellowships and beginning employment in the summer of 2017, all Impact Fellows must complete the Transition to Impact Bootcamp held on campus in order to prepare you with career readiness competencies and a clear set of expectations related to the fellowship.
