Davidson provides a supportive environment in which individuals can explore interests, share experiences, and learn from each other. To that end, the college supports a number of student-led organizations that promote advocacy and acceptance of its students, faculty, and staff as well as members of the greater community.
The Davidson Women's Committee is a resource for men and women as parts of a co-educational campus. The committee hosts all-school luncheons, guest lecturers, theater productions, discussions, fundraisers, and service events focused on gender expression on campus and issues affecting women.
FLY aims to empower students by promoting positive self-image, mental and physical wellness, and healthy attitudes towards sex and gender. The group hosts discussions, guest lectures, and film events, as well as service events.
Queers & Allies includes students, faculty, and staff, and represents members of the Davidson community who identify themselves as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (GLBTQ), along with straight allies. The group advocates for increased awareness and acceptance of GLBTQ issues and aims to provide a safe and supportive environment for all GLBTQ individuals in the school community.
The Women's Leadership Conference Planning Committee works to provide women in the college and the community with tools to become better leaders and with opportunities to share their experiences as women. The group also plans the annual Women's Leadership Conference.
