The Residence Life Office (RLO) will house Davidson students over the summer in Chidsey Hall.
Students who need to stay from graduation to the beginning of summer, "May move-overs," may do so for an extra charge. Students who need to stay from the end of summer until they have opening responsibilities, "August move-overs," may do so for an extra charge. Opening responsibilities include students whose role is related to the opening of the college and ultimately determined by the Dean of Students. It includes in-season athletes, pre-orientation programs, leadership groups who have responsibilities during orientation, etc. Questions regarding summer housing can be emailed to Debby Young at RLO@davidson.edu.
All summer living options are billed at either a double room rate or a private room rate. RLO will attempt to meet requests for private rooms but there are a very limited number available and it will not be possible to fulfill most private room requests.
To request summer housing, submit a completed Summer 2017 Housing Application (available in the spring) to the Residence Life Office. The deadline for submitting applications is Thursday, April 13, at 11:59 p.m. Applications received after this time will be considered based on space availability.
Please note, if your dates on campus straddle a portion of the first half and a portion of the second half of summer, you will need to apply as an entire summer resident.
All college and RLO Policies and Procedures, as noted on the RLO website, apply during summer housing and any student found in violation of policy may be asked to leave campus housing and the full housing fee will still be required to be paid.
Note: You are responsible for making full payments to Business Services by Tuesday, August 1.
