Symphony Orchestra

Associate Professor Tara Villa Keith kicks off the 2015-16 season with lively and exuberant programs highlighting the most talented of our student musicians. In the spring semester, welcome guest conductor Jonathan Andrew Govias for an engaging conclusion to the season. The Davidson College Symphony Orchestra (DCSO) is also in their seventh season of Concerts for a Cause in which donations are accepted at the door for various charitable organizations. Concert on the Green

We hope you brought blankets, packed a picnic, and tapped your toes while mingling with fellow concert-goers by joining the orchestra on the Davidson town green for a sneak peak of our season opening concert at this entertaining annual event.

Season Opener

The 2015-16 season opened with Chabrier's Marche Joyeuse and Kalinnikov's Symphony No.1.

Fall Concert

In addition to highlighting the student winners of the 2015 Concerto Competition, audience members enjoyed the light and comedic music of Rossini's Overture to La Gazza Ladra and Britten's Soirées musicales, modeled after Rossini.
