Philosophy, Politics and Economics

Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) at Davidson College

Is socialism more just than capitalism? When are markets exploitative? Should the United States pay reparations for slavery? How can we address persistent structural poverty?

These are hard questions that citizens in today’s fast-changing world can’t afford to ignore. And they are just a few of the questions that animate the interdisciplinary field of Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE). PPE at Davidson deploys tools and approaches from multiple disciplines to equip students to tackle some of the 21st century’s most pressing moral, political, and economic problems.
