Psychology at Davidson
The Davidson College Psychology Department provides students with an outstanding education in all aspects of the science and practice of psychology.
We are committed teachers, researchers, and practitioners who offer our students a rigorous curriculum of courses, research opportunities, and field experiences. As advisers and mentors, we work closely with current students and alumni to help them reach their full personal and professional potential. We are committed to addressing critical issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion in our curriculum and research.
We celebrate the diversity of identities held by our students, faculty and staff, and unconditionally welcome all people interested in psychology. Critical to the fulfillment of our mission, the department continuously works to maintain its standing as a nationally recognized center of psychological research, scholarship, and practice by supporting, encouraging, and facilitating the professional development of its faculty and staff.
We maintain a positive climate of collegiality, collaboration, mutual support, high standards, and overall daily excellence within the department, from which our students, staff, and faculty benefit both personally and professionally.
Students and faculty members engage in robust, collaborative research projects both during the academic year and over the summer. In doing so, students expand upon the knowledge gained in their research methods courses and hone advanced skills.
