The Staley Lecture Series was established at Davidson in 1970 by Thomas F. Staley ’24. Mr. Staley wanted to give students and others in the college community an opportunity to hear distinguished Christian speakers reflect on their personal faith and some aspect of their work or area of expertise in ways that are intellectually engaging and spiritually nurturing. Recent Staley lecturers include Bishop Michael Curry (of Royal Wedding renown), social justice activist Shane Claiborne, Thema Bryant, and best-selling pastor-authors Barbara Brown Taylor and Nadia Bolz-Weber.
The lecture is free and open to the public.
