Honors Program

If you have a 3.2 overall average and at least a 3.5 average in the major you may apply to the faculty for participation in the Art Department's Honors Program.

Honors in Art History

Art Majors who receive an 'A' in ART 496 and have met the overall GPA requirements can be considered for honors. If, in the collective evaluation of the Art History faculty, the thesis document reflects an exceptional level of skill in writing and research, honors may be awarded.

Honors in Studio Art

Art Majors who receive an 'A' in ART 401 and have met the overall GPA requirements are automatically considered for honors. All Studio Art majors complete a solo art exhibition in the spring semester of the senior year as a requirement toward graduation. If, in the collective evaluation of the Studio Art faculty, the exhibition reflects an exceptional level of quality and ambition, honors may be awarded.
