The Student Activities Office supports, sponsors, and organizes several events throughout the year for the students to participate in and enjoy.

Activities & Community Fairs

The Student Activities Office and Center for Civic Engagement host an Activities Fair at the beginning of fall semester where registered student organizations set up booths and introduce themselves to prospective members. It is a great way to learn more about a lot of organizations in one setting. A few weeks following, the Center for Civic Engagement hosts a Community Involvement Fair where you can learn more about the community organizations and service. In the fall, the Patterson Court Council will hold separate information sessions about joining a fraternity, sorority or eating house.

Organizational Advising

The staff members in the office are available to assist organizations and individuals with event planning and promotion, group management, member recruitment and engagement, and administrative tasks using WildcatSync, Davidson's student engagement platform.

Wildcat Welcome Week

Wildcat Welcome Week welcomes all students back to campus during the first week of classes each fall with a variety of activities and information sessions from major student organizations and departments. The goal of Wildcat Welcome Week is to provide new students with additional programming and informational opportunities beyond their formal new student orientation experience as they make Davidson their home and begin classes. The week also provides a unified effort to welcome back returning students after their summer away. An initiative of the College Union, the Wildcat Welcome Week is a mix of Davidson traditions, such as the Freshman Cake Race and Live Thursday, with new activities to engage all students.

Workshops & Trainings

The office hosts workshops and trainings on various topics including event planning, budgeting, and using WildcatSync. In addition, the Student Activities Office plans roundtable conversations with large-scale programming organizations as well as trainings for leaders who started new organizations.
