Background

I teach courses in macroeconomics, computational economics, international trade, migration and econometrics.

After completing high school in India, I came to the U.S. for college and subsequently worked for Deloitte Tax before beginning my career as an economics professor. I have a broad research agenda – my publications have covered a wide range of topics that include macroeconomics methodology (Cambridge Journal of Economics), partisan opinion dynamics (Eastern Economic Journal), and empirical open economy macroeconomics (Open Economies Review). My ongoing projects include an analysis of poverty traps in developing countries, an examination of the effect of income segregation on food access in the United States, and an exploration of the game theoretic foundations of ethical reasoning.

I love to foster critical thinking in and out of the classroom and I host Econversations – a weekly informal discussion forum that takes a deep dive into economics-related topics.
