In this talk, Deacon will give his thoughts on the evolution of a mathematician, in thinking, perspective, transformation and contributions from grade school to grad school, through academic, industrial and consulting careers. He’ll also discuss some practical problems over the course of that career.
More about Deacon: After completing a BS at Brown University, MS&PhD at Stony Brook in Applied Mathematics and Statistics, Art taught at Syracuse. He then went to Bell Laboratories followed by several positions in the Network Operations division at AT&T. Upon retiring from AT&T, he founded a consulting firm that serves primarily the intelligence community and related companies.
