DCI Forum on Income and Wealth Disparities

The Forum will begin with a panel of advocates and experts with different views on this topic who will explore their areas of agreement and disagreement on the need to address these disparities and the wisdom of different strategies, from tax cuts to tax increases to a Universal Basic Income.

Panelists include Robyn Lake Hamilton (CEO and President of the Urban League of Central Carolinas), Jessica Flanigan (Professor of Leadership Studies and Philosophy, Politics, Economics and Law at the University of Richmond), Brian Balfour (Senior Vice President of Research at the John Locke Foundation), and Sean McKeever (Professor of Philosophy at Davidson College).

The panel will be moderated by Doug Hicks '90, President of Davidson College and Professor of Religious Studies.

Following the panel discussion, both online and in-person forum attendees will have the opportunity to deliberate about the topic among themselves, guided by the DCI’s trained facilitators.
