Financial Aid
Our financial aid experts are happy to work with you to develop a financial aid package that will make Davidson affordable for you.
An excellent liberal arts education is one of the best investments you can make.
Domestic students and permanent residents are considered for admission at Davidson without regard for their financial resources.
Your academic potential, character, and accomplishments are the only factors considered in admission decisions–not your ability to pay the cost of attendance. About 51 percent of our students receive need-based aid, and 70 percent receive aid from some source.
We proudly stand as one of only two dozen schools in the United States that admit students independent of their family’s ability to pay, cover the bills beyond the family’s calculated contribution, and do so without loans in the student’s aid package.
Within the standards set by the U.S. Department of Education, we use our own formula to determine eligibility for aid. From the financial information your family provides by completing the FAFSA and the CSS Financial Aid Profile, we calculate both your expected family contribution and demonstrated need. Your financial aid award will be based on Davidson's full annual costs and a calculated contribution from you and your family.
Financial aid packages typically include a combination of grants, scholarships, and student employment. All students who wish to be considered for need-based financial aid must reapply each year.
At Davidson College, 100 percent of calculated financial need is met entirely through grants and student employment. Additionally, there are several other resources families may use to help pay their share of college costs including scholarships, loans and outside resources.
