Faculty at Davidson have access to the extensive primary source collections of the Center for Research Libraries (CRL). CRL acquires and preserves newspapers, journals, documents, archives, and other resources for research and teaching. You can request an interlibrary loan or have materials digitized on demand. HathiTrust is a digital repository of more than 17 million books, selected periodicals, and other materials digitized by a partnership of research libraries. As a member of HathiTrust, Davidson College has digital full-text access to more than 6.8 million public domain titles and full-text searching of additional titles in copyright.
Newspaper Site Licenses
Davidson College has a site license to The New York Times and The Chronicle of Higher Education.
The New York Times site license includes:
- Access to the New York Times via web or mobile app
- Archives access from 9/18/1851-12/31/2002
- Podcasts such as The Daily, and access to Live Events
- Teaching and learning content for faculty

The Chronicle of Higher Education site license includes:
- Unlimited digital access to Chronicle content, news, and data.
- Articles and essays dating back to 1989.
- Opinion pieces from leaders in higher education.
- Special issues like The Almanac of Higher Education and The Trends Report.
- Daily and weekly newsletters with the creation of a free account.
- Virtual events with topics for everyone on campus.
- The Higher Education job board and salary comparison data.

The E.H. Little Library supports a variety of Open Access projects and encourages Davidson College affiliated researchers and authors to publish OA when applicable.
