Chidsey Leadership Fellows with Speaker in Classroom

Programming & Events

The Chidsey Program Staff hosts a semi-annual leadership lecture, a women's leadership conference, and special workshops for all students to participate and be exposed to leadership education and development.

Leadership Lectures

The Chidsey Leadership Lectures feature Davidson alumni and other inspiring leaders who have made exceptional contributions to their communities. Occurring once a semester, speakers are invited to lead an engaging session with or lecture for the students, dining with students before or after in an informal setting. Speakers are selected for their unique experiences that can be applied to diverse student groups.

To nominate a lecturer to the committee, email the Chidsey Program at chidseyprogram@davidson.edu.

Katherine M. Bray Women’s Leadership Conference

The Annual Katherine M. Bray Women's Leadership Conference is an intergenerational exploration of leadership. The conference is designed and run entirely by a student planning committee. The Chidsey Program maintains a strong relationship with conference leaders; providing support and advice as needed. The mission of the conference is to encourage relationships between students and community members by connecting them as conference participants.

For more information and to participate in the conference, email the conference committee at chidseyprogram@davidson.edu

The program is open to all students and encourages students to transition to more immersive experiences post-participation. The program consists of seven workshops that build leadership capacity and skill in the following areas: self-awareness, teamwork, understanding others, leading from values, bridging conflict, cultivating curiosity, and exploring pathways to more immersive leadership experiences.
