The IACUC has been appointed to oversee and evaluate this institution's Animals Care and Use Program and also ensure our program complies with regulations outlined by federal and funding agencies.
Responsibilities of the Institutional Animal Care & Use Committee

Review the Animal Care and Use Program

Inspect the animal housing and research laboratories

Establish Institutional Policies for Animal Care and Use

Review and approve Animal Care and Use Protocols

Investigate Concerns of Deficiencies in Animal Care or Use

Suspend activities that fail to comply with federal regulation, Institutional policies or an IACUC approved protocol
Training Requirements for IACUC Members
New member orientation will be conducted one-on-one with the IACUC Administrator.
Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) is a web-based training program that was developed to provide required information on the humane care and use of lab animals as mandated by federal regulations.
CITI refresher training is required every four years, and the requirements are as follows:
- Essentials for IACUC Members: For all IACUC members except Community Members.
- IACUC Chair: Only for the Chair of the IACUC
- IACUC Community Members: Only for IACUC Community Members
