Hearing Conservation Program
Davidson has a hearing conservation program to prevent noise-induced hearing loss per OSHA code 29 CFR 1910.95. Engineering controls will be provided whenever feasible to minimize noise exposure to employees. In the event that these measures are inadequate, the Environmental, Health and Safety Office will provide the appropriate hearing protection.
Any employee that is exposed to an eight hour time weighted average of 85 decibels or greater shall be provided with hearing protection and enrolled in the hearing conservation program. Annual third party hearing training and audiogram testing will be provided to affected employees. If the results of the audiogram indicate hearing loss, the employee is notified and additional measures are taken, such as dosimetry monitoring and medical evaluation.
