Peer Support
Through the CSDI and other groups on campus, Davidson offers many opportunities for peers to support one another.
Students Together Reaching for Individual Development and Education (STRIDE) is a pre-orientation, peer mentorship program designed to help students cultivate a sense of belonging during their time at the college and make the most of their first academic year at Davidson College.
The STRIDE Pre-Orientation Program is facilitated by the CSDI staff with support from other campus partners. In this three-day program, students will explore social identities and experiences of marginalized communities. Additionally, students are provided an opportunity to participate in community building activities and discussions that establish a strong foundation for academic and social success on campus.
While STRIDE is designed to support the unique lived experiences of students of color, all first-year and transfer students who register for the program are eligible to participate.
YANASH is a confidential student group created by students for any and every Davidson College student to seek queer community without the pressures and fears of coming out. The organization fosters an inclusive environment for attendees to seek information about queer identities, gender identities and sexualities in group and peer support networks. Contact us for more information!
The CSDI staff offers a variety of resources and services for Undocumented and DACA students. If you have questions, concerns or suggestions, please connect with the Director directly to learn more about the ways the CSDI can support you.
Through the Student Activities Office, Davidson has more than 200 student organizations on campus. Students have created a range of student organizations that address culture, diversity, gender and sexuality topics.
