Facilities
John Crosland Jr. Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) provides faculty with tools to explore teaching methods or develop new pedagogies.
The CTL supports Davidson’s commitment to academic excellence by fostering a vibrant and engaged community. Our staff pools pedagogical resources and works with faculty to create learning opportunities.
Reserve a Room
- To reserve Group Tutor Room 1 or 2 (capacity 10) email date and time you would like to reserve room to CTL@davidson.edu.
- To reserve Quiet Room A or C (capacity 4) email date and time you would like to reserve room to CTL@davidson.edu.
- You may self-reserve Quiet Room B or D (capacity 4) on the LibCal scheduling tool. QR codes are posted outside Room B and D all can scan with their phone, see the schedule and make reservations on site/know if someone else has reserved.
You can also scan the code and show that you have a reservation if someone is in the room when you arrive.
When not reserved, rooms are available on a first-come, first served basis.

Available Spaces
Studio D
Designated as a classroom, Studio D seats up to 32 participants. It is also available to reserve for meetings, study groups, etc. by emailing CTL@davidson.edu with date and time you would like to reserve.
Reservation priorities are given to:
- Academic classes and workshops
- Matters related to innovative teaching (Pedagogy and Experiential)
- Speakers related to Teaching and Learning
Open Tutoring Room
The Open Tutoring Room seats up to 40 participants. To reserve, email CTL@davidson.edu with date and time you would like to reserve.
Technical Equipment
- 70" portable monitor with laptop connections for presentations
- 25' of wall-mounted white boards on two walls for classes, workshops, collaboration
Reservation priorities are given to:
- Academic classes and workshops
- Student tutoring
- Faculty, staff meetings
Group Tutor Rooms
The CTL has two small conference rooms, Group Tutor Rooms 1 and 2. Both seat up to 10 participants. To reserve the Group Tutor Room, email CTL@davidson.edu with date and time you would like to reserve.
Technical Equipment
Each Group Tutor Room is equipped with an Eno Smart Board. The Eno Smart Board can be used for projection of presentations and are equipped with a stylus pen that can be used to edit projected materials. The projection screen can be used as a digital whiteboard. Also equipped with monitor and Logitech camera for remote meetings.
Reservation priorities are given to:
- Students
- Faculty or Staff
Quiet Rooms
The CTL has four Quiet Rooms, A, B, C and D. All seat up to 4 participants. To reserve a Quiet Room, use the LibCal scheduling tool, or email CTL@davidson.edu with date and time you would like to reserve.
Quiet Rooms may be reserved for:
- Student accommodations
- Test Taking
- One-on-one Remote Tutoring Sessions (Davidson student tutoring only)
- Standardized Test Prep (GMAT, LSAT, etc.)
