Hip Hop Pedagogy
This moderated discussion, "The Transformative Power of Hip-Hop," features Daren Graves (Simmons University), editor of The Bloomsbury Handbook of Hip-Hop Pedagogy; Mark Katz (UNC-Chapel Hill), author of Rap & Redemption on Death Row and Build: The Power of Hip-Hop Diplomacy in a Divided World; and David Spellmon Jr., author of Just Like Music: Social Emotional Learning Inspired by Hip-Hop. We will explore hip-hop’s role in curricula, civic engagement, cultural expression, and justice.
