Chris Hedges is a Pulitzer-prize winning former foreign correspondent for The New York Times. He spent two decades covering conflicts in Latin America, the Middle East Africa and the Balkans. He was the Middle East Bureau Chief for The New York Times and during the war in the former Yugoslavia was the paper's Balkan Bureau Chief. He is the author of 14 books, including several New York Times best sellers. He has taught at Columbia University, New York University, Princeton University and the University of Toronto. He has also taught in the college degree program offered by Rutgers University in the New Jersey prison system for over a decade.
