SPEAS Lecture: An Epidemiologist in the Land of Ethics" by Lisa Lee, Ph.D., Population Health Sciences Virginia Tech

SPEAS Lecture on Monday, February 3, 2025 @ 7:30 pm in Chambers Building, Hance Auditorium hosted by the Department of Public Health. Dr. Lee will present “An Epidemiologist in the Land of Ethics” .

Dr. Lisa M. Lee serves as associate vice president for research and innovation, leading the Division of Scholarly Integrity and Research Compliance at Virginia Tech. She holds a faculty appointment in the department of population health sciences in the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. Lee is an expert on contact tracing, public health surveillance, ethics, and other topics related to infectious diseases that became highly sought after by members of the media reporting on COVID-19. Prior to joining the Virginia tech community in 2018, Lee served as the inaugural chief of bioethics at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research. During the Obama administration, she served as executive director of the Presidential Bioethics Commission. For over 25 years, Lee has worked in public health and ethics at the local, state, federal, and international levels, including 14 years at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
