Van Every/Smith Galleries - For Freedoms Art Activity

This project was originally initiated by For Freedoms, an artist-led organization that models and increases ciic engagement, discourse, and direct action. Founded in 2016 by Hank Willis Thomas, Eric Gottesman, and Michelle Woo, For Freedoms does not overtly support any specific party or candidate but instead works with artists and organizations to center the voices of artists in public discourse, expand what participation in democracy looks like, and reshape conversations about politics.

To participate in the Lawn Activation, find us around campus and create your own sign that will be added to a larger campus display. Everyone has an investment or interpretation of what freedom means. Your participation will help us better understand what issues are important to our campus and community, and what freedom means in the 21st century.
