89.9 WDAV Classical Public Radio Celebrates 35th Anniversary

89.9 WDAV Classical Public Radio has been the area's Classical Companion since 1978, when it first became a professionally-run station with an all classical format. Since then, the station has contributed to the creation of a vibrant local arts community while providing listeners with an unparalleled classical music experience. In celebration of its past, present and future, WDAV will host special anniversary programming and events Dec. 2-6.

During the week-long celebration, listeners will enjoy live studio performances by local artists, including pianist Pamela Howland, at 9 a.m., Dec. 5. The celebration will culminate with WDAV's annual live broadcast of Charlotte Lessons and Carols from St. John's at noon, Dec. 6. That evening, from 6-8 p.m., the station invites the community to attend a Holiday Open House at its N. Main Street headquarters. Learn more about these events.
