The Hon. Anthony Foxx ’93 joined Davidson College President Carol E. Quillen today for a conversation about Davidson’s mission to educate leaders who create change, and our responsibility to amplify the national conversation on social injustice and systemic racism during this time of grief, anguish and anger.
“Our conversation today cannot provide the balm or solution,” Quillen said. “I hope it provides a re-affirmation of the college’s values: that Davidson as a community strives to honor the dignity of each human being; we commit ourselves to the quest for truth; and we seek to build a more just and humane world. Systemic racism is antithetical to those values. We at Davidson commit to both understanding and dismantling systemic racism here and broadly in this country.”
In the coming weeks and months, we will share news on Davidson’s social media channels of other opportunities to come together to look at what we can do to make change.
