You might remember when applying to Davidson writing a supplemental essay on why you wanted to be part of our community. Perhaps you scanned the website, identified courses of interest, learned about the Honor Code, or discovered clubs you hoped to join.
After four years at Davidson, we checked in with current seniors to reconsider the question, Why Davidson? They reflect on their four years and why they're still choosing to be part of our community.
Prince Appiah ’25
Prince Appiah ’25 is a biology major with a concentration in public health on the premedicine track from Newark, New Jersey, and Tema, Ghana. Outside of the classroom, he is involved with Davidson African Students Association (DASA), Residence Life, Bonner Scholars, FIRST Action Team and the Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students (MAPS).
Liz Austell ’25
Liz Austell ’25 is a Computer Science and Mathematics major from Matthews, North Carolina. Outside of the classroom, she is involved with Jazz Ensemble, Reformed University Fellowship (RUF), Mock Trial and Turner Eating House. She also volunteers as a tour guide and performs with several student bands.
Daniel Presa '25
Daniel Presa ’25 is a Political Science major from San Jose, California. Outside of the classroom, he is an Honor Council Student Solicitor and Chidsey Leadership Fellow. He is also involved with UKirk and Davidson’s Student Initiative for Academic Diversity (SIAD).
Alice Whisnant ’25
Alice Whisnant ’25 is a Psychology and Hispanic Studies double major from Charlotte, North Carolina. Outside of the classroom, she is involved with the Women’s Ultimate Frisbee Team, Davidson Outdoors, Rusk Eating House, and SK8s, an organization of students who teach Spanish at Davidson’s K-8 school.
Arielle Germeus ’25
Arielle Germeus ’25 is an Africana Studies major on the Premedicine track from Miami, Florida. Outside of the classroom, she serves as President of Black Femmes.
Zuber Chawla ’25
Zuber Chawla ’25 is an Economics major and Data Science minor from Chandigarh, India. Outside of the classroom, he is involved with Club Tennis, Student Government Association (SGA), Activities Tax Council, South Asian Student Association (SASA), Cricket Club, Pre Business Society, Badminton Club, Davidson Investment and Finance Association (DIFA), Davidson International Student Association (DIA), International Student Engagement Orientation Team, Club Squash and Club Pickleball.
Citlali Navarrete Falcon ’25
Citlali Navarrete Falcon ’25 is an Anthropology major from New York City. Outside of the classroom, she is involved with QuestBridge Scholars, Sigma Delta Pi, Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc., Student Initiative for Academic Diversity (SIAD), Organization of Latinx American Students (OLAS) and Dance Ensemble.
