My specialties include the history of India and China, the life of Gandhi, and Indian, Chinese, and Japanese architecture, sculpture, and painting.
As the director of the South Asian Studies Program, I'm closely involved with the Davidson College Semester-in-India and Nepal Program. Born in India, I've spent more than 30 years teaching and often guiding Davidson students about my homeland.
