Background
My research and teaching explore the intersections between environmental and social justice in 20th and 21st-century literature and art from Algeria, Morocco, and the Congo.
My current project examines how African literature and collage art rethink the environment and how collage, as theory, pedagogy, and practice, provides a reading lens that disrupts our perception of ecologies.
The content of my classes reflects and extends my research with a focus on decolonial ecocriticism, post-colonial studies, and migration.
To engage students with current ecological issues, I have created a digital platform that gathers interviews with NGOs that protect the Mediterranean environment. This project aims to raise awareness about the impact of climate change on vulnerable populations in this interconnected region.
