Background

As the Associate Dean of Students at Davidson College, I provide leadership, supervision, and strategic direction to Academic Access and Disability Resources, CARE and Case Management, Residence Life, and Student Rights and Responsibilities. I am directly responsible for helping to manage the Dean of Students Office, with a focus on cultivating and promoting students’ intellectual, personal, and social development and discernment. In my role as Associate Dean, I assist with advising Honor Council student leaders and members, collaborate to convene and facilitate the Student Conduct Council, and coordinate and facilitate student support services at both individual, collective, and campus-wide levels. Additionally, for the Fall 2024 semester, I am serving as Interim Director of Residence Life.

I am honored to be a student-centered practitioner who has been fortunate to work with students, faculty, and staff for approximately 20 years in a variety of institutions of higher education. Much of my career has been and continues to center on creating and sustaining programs, services, and initiatives that foster student success and engagement, community care and well-being, inclusion and belonging, and transformative and restorative justice. Prior to joining the Davidson College community, I worked in student affairs roles at Hampshire College, Chatham University, University of Hartford, and Bryant University. Through the various roles I have held, my career has included having the privilege and opportunity to lead and work in residence life, student conduct, orientation, student success and retention, student engagement, international student services, student wellness, LGBTQIA+ programs, and alcohol and drug education.

I have also taught undergraduate-level courses on a variety of topics such as leadership, social justice, rhetoric and writing, and new student success.
