Background
As the Director of the Center for Student Diversity and Inclusion, I provide leadership and vision in collaboration with my team, as we advocate for social justice, equity and liberation, create safer community spaces, and support the holistic wellness of students. I work in partnership across campus to identify needs, enhance services and resources, and develop programmatic opportunities to support and celebrate the intersectional experiences of students. For me, trust and respect are integral to social justice work and I am committed to leading with integrity and utilizing my positionality to create and sustain equitable and accessible spaces for belonging across campus and beyond. In addition, throughout my career, I have worked to support student development, provide resources for students with a variety of identities and experiences and assist students as they enhance their leadership, growth and learning. Additionally, my experiences in higher education range from working in multiple LGBTQIA+ cultural centers, multicultural affairs, and residential life. As a leader within these spaces, I facilitated social justice trainings and workshops, worked on policy development, conducted assessment, provided crisis intervention and support, and collaborated with campus and community partners to enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
