Charlotte Observer: Davidson Graduate Helps Bring ‘Terminator' Back
Hollywood writer and producer Laeta Kalogridis '87 sought to deepen the Terminator mythology with "Terminator Genisys," now in theaters. In an interview with the Charlotte Observer, she's quick to note that the new film is not a ‘reboot' of the much loved franchise but is meant to stand on its own, alongside the other movies.
According to the article, these questions guided the development of "Genisys": If you take the characters and put different pressures on them, and different life experiences, what will they do? How will they behave? Who will they become? What will change? What will not change about them?
Kalogridis' film credits include "Shutter Island" for Martin Scorsese, "Alexander" for Oliver Stone and "Avatar" for James Cameron.
