Forbes: Genevieve Nielsen ’14 One of Forbes ‘30 under 30’ Social Entrepreneurs

Genevieve Nielsen '14 is one of Forbes' "30 under 30" social entrepreneurs for 2017, joining an elite group of young people working to make a difference. In 2014 the Illiniois native cofounded mRelief, an online and SMS text message service that helps families determine whether they qualify for government social services. Already mRelief has helped 100,000 families.
Nielsen, an economics major at Davidson, turned her attention to business development after a summer internship in Chicago in 2013 and later worked with mentor Jeff Tonidandel '02 to learn the ins and outs of the industry. A driven student, Neilsen earned first honors and graduated summa cum laude.
