Virtual Events Slated in Honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day

The college will close Monday, Jan. 18, in remembrance of the life of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
In the interest of public health, virtual opportunities are planned to explore and celebrate King’s legacy. Some local and regional events are listed here:

MLK Shabbat - Confronting the Machinery of Hate: White Supremacy, White Nationalism, and Antisemitism: 7:30-9 p.m., Friday, Jan. 15
United Way’s Racial Equity 21-Day Challenge: Monday, Jan. 18 – Monday, Feb. 15
Town of Davidson’s Virtual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration: 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 18
Community members are invited to view the celebration at the Town of Davidson website.
WDAV Classical Public Radio will celebrate Martin Luther King Day with musical selections throughout the day on Jan. 18 and will present Opera Carolina’s annual concert, “Art, Poetry, Music: Celebrating the Life and Legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.,” at 7 p.m.
